At first I didn’t know what to expect from UCC School of BEES but after being here a week I can certainly say it was a very worthwhile experience, writes Niamh McGrath of Christ King Secondary School, Cork.
Being here with thirteen other TY students really gave me an idea of what college life will be like and… I love it! At the beginning of the week I didn’t know whether I would actually consider a career in Geology, Zoology, Ecology or any of the other courses offered in UCC School of BEES but I really enjoyed my week and now I will definitely consider coming here in 2015.
Everyone was very welcoming to us and really made an effort to help us enjoy being here and I would like to thank all the staff for having us. Grace was especially helpful throughout the week, she was always there to help us out; bringing us from room to room and answering any questions we had so I would like to thank Grace. I was worried before coming here that I would be lonely but although we didn’t know each other at the beginning of the week all of the group got on really well after the awkwardness of the first morning subsided.
Things that I never thought I would find interesting are now the things I find, perhaps, the most interesting
During the week I think one of the most useful and exciting things we did was a tour of Boole Library and the main UCC campus. UCC really is a beautiful place full of history and culture. There’s a truly wonderful atmosphere around the campus. Although I am a little sad to be leaving here I’m really glad I came and I look forward to returning in the future.
