Participating in the UCC BEES TY programme has been great!
It was great to sample all the different aspects of the course and get an idea of what things interest me. One of the highlights of the week was making the posters to represent the different aspects of the BEES disciplines. It was really entertaining and a great way to learn more about careers that having a degree would lead to and learning what the courses have to offer.
Another highlight of the week was definitely getting to talk to like-minded people who are asking the same questions as you are, who are in the same situation and also trying the decide what they want to do in the future. It was a great to make new friends and it made the experience enjoyable.
Overall the week has been great, there were parts that I found a little boring but those were also helpful because it showed what might not be a good thing for me to study! The week has opened up so many more options and has given me something to think about. I would not have thought of studying anything in BEES but now it is something I can consider. All the lecturers and people that we talked to throughout the week were very helpful and gave us a good idea of what the different areas in the BEES programme are.
Coming to UCC for the week gave me a good idea of where I want to study in the future and I’m a hoping that it will be here, at UCC.
