Ruairi Collier, Presentation Brothers College Cork
I went into the week not really knowing many of the modules you could do as a part of CK404 (Biological, Earth and Environmental Sciences). I only knew zoology and didn’t know much about any other of the modules.
Throughout my week here, I have learn about many different modules I could do as a part of CK404. I have learn about many new disciplines that I have an interest in such as Geology and Ecology. I would like to maybe study Ecology or Zoology when I get into college. I have also have learn about how the course works and how it evolves around my choices and I can do what I like to do without any restriction that are in my secondary school today.
I have also talk to many post grads and people who are in 4th year of college and are in the BEES course and have found them very helpful about what I like and help guiding me in the right direction. We have attend all sorts of different modules in a lecture or a practical.
It was fun to actually go outside and to do what the courses is about instead of learning and talking in a class room filled with 30 plus people. It has been amazing to go out in the sunny weather and to hold birds and to look at rocks that are millions of years old. The course has really changed my opinion on some of the modules in this course.
