Welcome Message

Head of SchoolResearch and research led teaching is what distinguishes a university education from other types of education.  The generation of new knowledge, the re-interpretation of existing knowledge and the application of new technologies and perspectives is the hall-mark of a modern research active university. Communicating research is vital for the value to be derived from such work.

This Blog is being launched to communicate our research more widely and in a more accessible from.  We hope BEES researchers and friends will blog  on their recent paper, their field work and data collection or experiences from their field courses.  If you are doing some interesting work,  Blog and let us know.

BEES researchers will have an opportunity in Cork to present their research to the 21st Irish Environmental Researchers’ Colloquium (ENVIRON 2011) to be held in University College Cork (UCC) from Wednesday, April 6th– Friday April 8th, 2011. The ENVIRON colloquium is the largest annual gathering of environmental researchers in Ireland with over 300 researchers attending the event.  We encourage you to submit your abstracts now!

Enjoy and get blogging!
